The Mersey Ferries Heritage Society was launched in September 2012 and initially named Mersey Ferries Heritage Group. The group was formed by Mersey Ferries captain David Langton and two ferries enthusiasts James Seddon and Bill Taylor. The aim of the group is to create a community for ferries enthusiasts from Merseyside and beyond. As of January 2016, the group has over 5,000 photographs and almost 1,000 members.

The group's core aim is to celebrate and promote the heritage of the ferry service and vessels. We also arrange regular group meetings, taking trips on the ferry and also to local nautical heritage locations.

About MFHG

MFHG is not a political entity and aims to support the work and objectives of Mersey Ferries Ltd and Merseytravel. We also are fully supportive of other ferry related groups, in particular the Friends of the Ferries Across the Mersey who's sterling work has supported the ferry service for many years - although we are not affiliated with this body.

In 2016 the group has been re branded as the Mersey Ferries Heritage Society. We are in the process of bringing together interested parties who would like to become members of the society committee. More information to follow on this on our news page.

We do hope that this site proves informative to anybody with an interest in the Mersey Ferries. The website is currently in the process of development and new sections will be added all the time.

Best wishes - MFHS Officers

James, Bill, David and Val
